Wednesday Weigh-in: Shrinkvivor Week #3

Shrinkvivor Challenge at the Sisterhood!I feel so much better about how this week has gone!  Thanks to the encouragement from the wonderful ladies at the Sisterhood last week (after my pity-party weigh-in post), I feel like I have a much better perspective on the challenge and my success in getting healthy and fit has nothing to do with whether or not I end up on Exile Island.  Although, my office just moved closer to home and I would totally love to have that kickin’ bike to ride to work!

We had two challenges again this week – one physical and the other non-physical.  The physical challenges are what count towards team immunity.  This week’s physical challenge was to track your exercise minutes.  I racked up 150 minutes.  I would have like to have done more but again I am really trying to pace myself and not overdo it.  I have mostly been walking but I did a work out DVD yesterday and it about did me in!  I described it on Twitter as it felt like I had ripped an adhesion.  Of course I have no way to know that but if I had to describe it, that is the best way I know how.  So I will be taking it easy today.

The non-physical challenge was no fast food.  And seriously I made it all week!  I did have 2 or 3 of Abby’s fries on Friday but that was it!  No meals out for me!  That is really HUGE!  Of course we were suppose to keep up drinking our water which I did ok but not great on.  Always something to improve on!

So I felt more optimistic about hopping on the scale this morning and this is what it said:

I’m down 2.8 pounds from last week!  Hooray!  I am so close to that 35 pound mark I can taste it!  I wanted to do a happy dance I was so excited to see that number!

So today if off to a great start!  I had a great weigh-in and am also rocking a new haircut!  I’m a little bummed that my highlights didn’t take (they were suppose to be violet but turned more of a mahogany – don’t know if meds have something to do with it) but I am having a re-do on Friday!  But here’s the cut:

Wednesday Check-in: Shrinkvivor Week 2

Shrinkvivor Challenge at the Sisterhood!I’m just going to start off by saying that I am so incredibly mad right now.  The scale was NOT my friend this morning!  I worked my tail off this week.  I drank tons of water.  Cut out nighttime snacking.  Stayed way below my calorie limit (and wrote down everything I ate!).  Racked up some miles the last two days.

We had 2 challenges this week – one physical and the other non-physical.  Our physical challenge (which was for tribe immunity) was to rack up some miles!  Either running, walking, elliptical, etc.  Anything beyond your normal day to day walking around (so no pedometers).  I racked up 6 miles.  Of course I would have liked for it to be more but with the pain I’ve been having, I’m excited about 6.  The other challenge was to drink water.  I’m not a huge water fan – mainly because it makes me live in the bathroom – but I did good and swapped my Coke for my water bottle!  I probably averaged 50oz of water a day!

So I really felt like I put a lot into the challenge this week.  And for what?

A loss of .6 lbs.  That’s it.  I feel so defeated. I feel like I’ve let my tribe down even though I put everything I have into this challenge.

I should probably pack my bags for Exile Island.

Wednesday Check-in: Shrinkvivor Debut!

Shrinkvivor Challenge at the Sisterhood!It is totally time to get this Shrinkvivor party started!  I am so stoked!  This is my 5th challenge at the Sisterhood and this is undoubtedly going to be the best one yet!  I have to admit that the thought of being voted off and sent to Exile Island scares the beejezus out of me!

But I’ve got a wonderful tribe of awesome ladies – Tribe Burgundy Babes – and we are totally going to rock this!

I am really worried about how my appointment tomorrow at Duke will affect the challenge (you know if the S word gets brought up) but I am going to focus on the positive for now & we will cross that bridge when we get there!

At today’s weigh-in I was up just a tad from last week but I’m not stressing over it.  I did a lot of traveling this weekend with family which doesn’t happen often.  But from here on out its GAME ON!
