Day3: Your Favorite Store
This one was tough to narrow down! I live in a really small town (still just one stoplight y’all!) which means traveling for decent shopping.
However, one of my favorites is nearby in our mall (as piddly as it is, it still is somehow considered a mall). It seems fitting to be a local store since the store’s motto is “the leading small town specialty store and authority for the savvy, fashion conscious customer with a twenty-something attitude.” If you know the slogan, then you know I’m talking about Maurices.
Well, I’m not really a twenty-something anymore (it totally makes me feel old to admit that) but it is definitely where I go for my more fashionable attire, especially for work. For my basic pieces, I am an Old Navy girl all the way but when I need some more unique or edgy pieces I head to Maurices.
Where is your favorite place to shop? Do you prefer large chain stores (like Old Navy) or smaller boutiques?

I love that last top! Gorgeous!
I wish I could afford boutiques. I wish I could afford Belk’s…
I shop at WalMart, KMart and thrift stores. Not because I’m trendy, but because I am very money-poor these days! When I have money, Torrid is a favorite (plus sized and very HOTT!).
I know the feeling of being money-poor! My child is usually much more trendy than I am (thanks to places like Once Upon a Child!) but I’ve been trying to watch for sales and save for special pieces that I really like. Like today, Maurices just did more markdowns and are running a special where you can take an additional 60% off the markdown prices so I got a regularly $40 blazer for $16! I love me some deals 🙂
Love the angle sleeve top! Too cute!
I’m definitely keeping it on my “watch to go on sale” list 🙂
Love the third blouse! I’m a black and lace girl too!!
I have definitely become more interested in the last year or so! I think since my hysterectomy I have struggled with feeling like I’m less of a woman than I once was so it has been a fun of part of my journey in the past year to try to recapture my femininity yet still keep my edge so black and lace have been a favorite go-to lately!
I like Maurice’s too, but I love Kohl’s because of the super savings.
I love the angel sleeve blouse too!!
If I had to choose a department store, I’d probably go with Macy’s. But I chose Target for my favorite overall store because, well, because they’re Target. 😉
In the last few months (well, since I’ve started buying something other than t-shirts) I have fallen in love with Maurices!

They can be expensive but they usually have coupons and good sales frequently! It definitely pays to be on their email list!
I shop at Kohls & JC Penneys but those tops you had in your post are super cute. I am going to have to check them out.
I always forget about Kohls! We don’t have one in town but there’s one not too far away and I never think of going! Need to add that to my to-do list 🙂
Well, I love the dress here… I like to wear these kind.
