Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Definitely hot chocolate!
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa definitely wraps at our house and each person has their own paper!
Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored lights currently. Hopefully next year we’ll have one of each!
Do you hang mistletoe? No. I’ve thought about it but never done it.
When do you put your decorations up? The week/weekend before Thanksgiving.
What is your favorite holiday dish? Turkey!
Favorite Holiday memory as a child? There are too many to choose! I do remember distinctly the Christmas I got coal in my stocking! I was so excited! I was going through an “I love rocks” stage (yes – I was a dork at a young age)
When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don’t remember the how but I guess I was around 8 or so
Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes! Christmas PJs
How do you decorate your Christmas tree? National Lampoon Christmas Vacation has to be on in order to decorate! John and I hang ornaments together and then add the topper last
Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it as long as I don’t have anywhere to be.
Can you ice skate? I make do! I’m no pro but I can usually get by without falling!
Do you remember your favorite gift? I was so excited when I was 7 to get a rock tumbler! I was still in the rock phase 🙂 Too bad it died shortly after!
What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Celebrating the birth of the Savior and spending time with family & friends.
What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? peanut butter balls! OMG I could eat 1000! Before Celiac, it was frosted sugar cookies!
What is your favorite holiday tradition? Eating mexican on Christmas Eve! I don’t know how the tradition started or even when but its the best! Dad tried to change it one year and all of us kids boycotted. Now that we have our first Christmas at home we are having mexican tonight too!
What tops your tree? A star
Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Definitely giving, especially now that I am a parent. I cannot wait for Abby to open her gifts!
What is your favorite Christmas Song? O Holy Night. Hands down.
Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? I can’t say I really like them but I don’t hate them either. The other flavor ones (besides peppermint) I can tolerate more.
Favorite Christmas Show? So hard to choose! It would be a tie between Christmas Vacation, Charlie Brown Christmas, and the Grinch (cartoon)
Saddest Christmas Song? any song where they paste in messages from soldiers to their families. Gets me every.time.

Santa wraps the presents in his own special wrapping paper that can NEVER be used for anything else.
We have three white trees and one colored tree. The outside is mostly white with one red tree accent, one green tree accent, and one blue bush accent.
Decorations go up on Black Friday
We celebrate with the maternal side of the family on Christmas Eve… so yes lots of present opening.
“Oh Holy Night” is my favorite too!
And we’re not allowed to listen to “Red Christmas Shoes” if Mom’s around…
We took your suggestion and went out for really good Mexican food tonight. It was yummy! Nothing says Merry Christmas like chicken in chocolate sauce 🙂
