11 in 2011: Favorite Memory of 2010

How on earth can I pick out a favorite memory from 2010? So many wonderful things happened! But if I have to choose, I would pick our vacation to Myrtle Beach in May!

The trip was not only a vacation but a celebration! Hubs and I were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary as well as graduating from seminary (we both received our Masters of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care & Counseling). Abby had also turned 1 and we were celebrating the finalization of her adoption as well! So we were ready to relax and have a great time!

We stayed at Ocean Reef Resort and I highly recommend it! Our room was perfect and the pool area was great! They had two kiddie pool/water areas as well as a lazy river in addition to two large pools. Abby wasn’t too keen on sand so we spent a lot of time at the pool! Actually this is the only picture we have of her walking in the sand (from our first day there!):

We also had a great time exploring the area too! Abby absolutely loves animals and fish so we had to visit Ripley’s Aquarium and Alligator Adventure!

I am looking back at these pictures with mixed emotions! We had such an amazing time and I wouldn’t trade these memories for anything! But they are also a reminder of how fast time goes and how quickly Abby is growing up! I remember when we got back from the trip that we commented on how big Abby looked and how much hair she had but now I look back and think of how tiny she was and how her curls were easily contained! Its crazy!

She is on my lap asleep as I am typing this post (one handed) and I am just incredibly thankful for every moment we have had and all that lies ahead! I would go through it all again just to be her mom.

This is an area that I am REALLY trying to work on in 2011! My almost type-A and perfectionist personality...
