Sharing Our Spoons Week #2

I cannot believe its week #2 of Sharing Our Spoons! I’m not sure about anyone else but the past week has seemed to both fly by and last forever! That ever happen to anyone else?

Here were my goals for the week:

Physical: cut back to 1 soda a day. Some people drink coffee, I would like a coke. Then its water.
Mental/Emotional: Start journaling. I need a place where I can write completely unfiltered.
Spiritual: Start a new devotional book – All I Need is Jesus & A Good Pair of Jeans
Something fun: Get my nails done! My anxiety has really done a number on my nails so I’m treating myself to a manicure!
BONUS: Get back into climbing shape by starting the pushups challenge and walking a minimum of 3x week.

How I did:

Eh. Not too proud of week 1. Its always my nature to beat myself up for it but the purpose of the group is to be able to say “Ok, I didn’t reach my goals this week but this a new week and I have the CHOICE to make this week different.” So I’m totally game for kicking butt the next 7 days & here’s my game plan:

drink your water!

I found this on pinterest but of course it links to nowhere so if anyone knows the original source, please let me know! Definitely plan on using this method to help goal #1!

keeping on target
To get a jumpstart on goals #2 & #3, I got a pretty journal to start writing in and have put my book next to my bed! Twitter will be turned off and my phone put down when I climb into bed until both my reading and journaling are done!

weekend manicure
I actually did #4! I didn’t get them professionally done between the shuffling back and forth to the doctor on my lunch breaks but I did take some time this weekend to do an at-home mani & pedi!

How was your week? Be sure to link up your post! To chat throughout the week, use the hashtag #sos! Also something to consider for the future – weekly chat session? Yes/no/maybe?

Yup its gray!!! Its one of my new favorites! When going through my nail polish collection last week I discovered I had 3 bottles of almost the exact same color (all different brands)! Oops! 🙂

I just found you via someone else’s blog (maybe Untypically Jia? I’m not sure). I LOVE this idea and will be following you religiously (pun intended, LOL). I am Christian thriving despite having lupus, a physical handicap, depression, and insomnia. I’m thrilled to find this blog and just posted it on the BYDLS Facebook page!

Well, since I’m behind on “following” your plan, but can relate to it: Here is what I am currently doing:

    1. WATER: I drink two cups right out of the bathroom tap as soon a I wake up. It ain’t pretty, but it gives me a head start on the 6 cups per day required by Weight Watchers. I have another cup at breakfast with my pills, so that gets me halfway through my “quota.” I have another at lunch, one in between lunch and dinner, and the last at dinner. Otherwise I would be up all night peeing!

As for finding the water bottles above, they look like old Nutri System bottles to me, and we have them at Weight Watchers, too. I’m sure you could find something similar at a dollar store and then mark it up with a permanent marker any way that works for you 🙂 Even if it doesn’t have marker lines on it, you could make you own by pouring in a cop of water, mark the line; pour another cup of water, mark the line; etc.

    2. JOURNALING/READING: I’ve been a regular journaler all my life, so that’s a done deal. I’ve been reading daily meditations from “Start Your Morning RIght.” I can’t remember the author though. I’ll have to check out the book you got. I like the title.

    3. NAIL FUN: I don’t get professional manis, but I did recently get a Wet ‘n’ Wild Nail Pail when they had a special on them at CVS last week. Plus I have a beauty blog for fun, so you can see the nail pail at the link below.

    4. PHYSICAL: I can’t do push-ups because of my disability, but I did recently make a commitment to get to the gym four times a a week. So far I’m 6 for 8, which isn’t bad at all for a spoonie 🙂

    Have a good day!

  5. Just posted my week #1 wrap up & week #2 goals on my blog. Love the water bottle idea. I used black ponytail holders on mine with one pink ponytail holder that gets moved down as I drink a bottle. So the number of black ponytail holders above the pink one is how many bottles I have drank. Clear as mud?

  6. Updated my blog with a new SOS post!
Love the water bottle idea. Pretty sure I’ve got that saved to my Pinterest somewhere. I need to get me a water bottle I can do that to for sure.

Ok, I’m jumping in. This is going to be fun and a good way to hold myself accountable. Thanks for starting this. I love the nail color. My nails are looking very unloved about now. And that journal is CUTE!!! I guess I better get working on my goals! HUGS!
