11 in 2011: Favorite Work Out Tips

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I hope you didn’t open this post expecting a long list of tips from moi! Considering how I have perfected the art of NOT working out lately. Granted I consider tear-inducing pelvic pain a reason to skip the gym, I don’ t feel like I am in any shape to give work out advice so I have been searching the interwebs for tips on working out with chronic illness and came across these lovely articles and hope they give you some tips and hope as well (I know I learned a lot!)

Workout 911: How to Exercise with a Chronic Condition

Tips of Healthy Living with Chronic Illness

Tools for Dealing with a Chronic Illness

When Those with Chronic Illness Exercise More, They Worry Less

That last one is specifically for me. My anxiety has really been up lately so anything I can do to keep it at bay without adding another pill to my collection would be great!

What are your favorite work out tips?

Since I have CFS I can’t work out at all. However, after I was in a couple of car accidents a few years back, when I was well enough to start working out again I took water yoga in the theraputic pool at the local YMCA. Gentle stretching exercises in warm water. It was like stretching in the bathtub. Very wonderful. If I ever get mobile again this is one of the options I will definately revisit.

We hope to be joining the Y in the next few months so I definitely plan on checking out an aquatics class! I’ve tried different types of exercise and they all seem to put me out of commission these days besides walking (and that can get so boring!) so hopefully joining the Y will give me some more options!

I wish I had some work out tips – sadly I’m terribly lazy and never actually force myself to work out, so I’ve got nothing!
