 What were you doing 10 years ago?

At this time 1o years ago, I was preparing like mad for my senior recital! I was a music education major in college and my primary instrument was the horn! I know, I know. The absolute geekiest instrument on the face of the planet! I enjoyed it though as well as taking voice lessons, singing in the choir, and praying to pass my piano proficiency so I could complete my student teaching!

Purchase tile for our bathroom floor

Shop for new cell phone

Take photos & list clothes on Poshmark

Survive my last week of work

Complete all the paperwork associated with the previous item

Name some things you would do if you were a millionaire:

Donate to our church & favorite charities

Purchase a newer car (we are rocking a ’95 and a ’03)

I totally rocked the Wendy’s uniform after high school

I have worked at both a department store and overstock bookstore

48 Things You May Not Have Known

I was relaxing and going through my Google Reader when I came across this post by ThetaMom (who is pretty much amazing and if you do not follow her blog you really need to. Like right now). I suddenly flashed back to my college days where I would spend obscene amounts of time procrastinating by filling out the 67th version of an About Me survey on MySpace! How could I pass up an opportunity to reminisce on a Friday night?

Ok, I realize it totally proves I have absolutely no life but I’m ok with that. Fridays are totally my down nights. The work week usually wears me out so I spend Friday nights winding down so I can hopefully have some energy for the weekend with the family! I’ve got shopping to do tomorrow so I need to save my energy!

 

Here are 48 things you may not have known about me:

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? 

Both of my parents! My dad’s name is James and I have my mom’s middle name!

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?

Last night. Pain was high. Endo sucks.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?

Not really. When I was younger I used to practice in hopes of learning to like my handwriting but still not really a fan. I definitely have handwriting envy when I see pretty handwriting. I probably love handwriting-inspired fonts too much as a result.

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?

Turkey!

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?

One and likely done.

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?

Hahaha. I think so!

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?

Probably too much!

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?

Yes!

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?

I think so!

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?

Oh my! Such a hard question! These days I could practically live on cereal so it is tough to make a decision. I love Cinnamon Chex and Berry Berry Kix these days!

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?

No.

12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?

Darn straight I am.

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?

Chocolate Peanut Butter

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?

Their yes

Pink.

16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?

I tend to freak out pretty easily and get easily overwhelmed. I hate that I can get so worked up over things and lose sleep at night over things that really don’t matter.

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?

I miss living close to my family. Does that count or does this question refer to someone that has passed?

18. WHAT IS THE TECHNIQUE THAT YOU NEED TO WORK ON THE MOST?

Budgeting.

19. WHAT COLOR SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?

Not wearing shoes at the moment!

20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?

Gluten-free chocolate chip cookie

21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?

The TV is on in the background.

Bright yellow.

Babies! I cannot wait to get my hands on my new niece in a couple weeks!

24. HOW IMPORTANT ARE YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS TO YOU?

I am not overly political. I am working on making more informed decisions but the ugly hate that came out during the last election makes me hate politics.

25. MOUNTAIN HIDEAWAY OR BEACH HOUSE?

I would love either but if I had to pick, definitely beach!

26. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?

NASCAR! Yes, I consider it a sport!

Brunette

Hazel

Oh yes. I am as blind as a bat.

So hard to make a decision! I would have to say computer though because I would likely be able to find a lot of what I watch on TV online.

Style Fun: This or That

Some random fun on a Friday!  Share your style preferences with a little game of This or That:

Makeup:

Blush or Bronzer: Not really either but if I had to choose bronzer
Lip gloss or Lipstick: Lip gloss hands down! Chapstick is even better :)
Eye liner or Mascara: I almost always have on Mascara if I am leaving the house!
Foundation or Concealer: Foundation!
Neutral or Color eye shadow: Really tough call! Neutral for work but I love experimenting with color
Pressed or Loose eye shadows: Pressed. I am way too messy for loose shadow!
Brushes or Sponges: Brushes

Nails:

OPI or China Glaze: OPI between the two – Sally Hansen Salon Manicure is my all-time favorite
Long or Short: Short
Acrylic or Natural: Natural
Brights or Darks: Brights for my toes and darks on my fingers
Flower or No flower: No flower.

Body:

Perfume or Body Splash: Lately I have had issues with both.
Lotion or Body Butter: Lotion
Body Wash or Soap: Body Wash always. Soap dries out my skin.
Lush or Other Bath Company: Other as in Wal-mart :)

Fashion:

Jeans or Sweat pants: I would live in sweatpants if I could but if I had choose another type of pants, jeans would beat out any other type.
Long sleeve or Short: Long sleeve! My perfect weather would be being able to wear long sleeves and jeans but no jacket.
Dresses or Skirts: Skirts!
Stripes or Plaid: Stripes absolutely! My obsession with stripes began this fall!
Flip Flops or Sandals: Flip flops
Scarves or Hats: I try to love scarves but my hot flashes do not
Studs or Dangly earrings: Both
Necklaces or Bracelets: Necklaces! I love bracelets too but when I am working, I always get annoyed with my bracelet banging on the desk when I type or use the mouse so I always end up taking them off.
Heels or Flats: While I love the look of heels, I’m a flats girl.
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots: Riding Boots
Jacket or Hoodie: Hoodie! I hate jackets (blazers are a different story though)

Hair:

Curly or Straight: Straight for me!
Bun or Ponytail: Ponytail if my hair was long enough
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips: Bobby pins
Hair Spray or Gel: Hair spray
Long or Short: Short! I’m getting ready to chop mine off again! Woo-hoo!
Light or Dark: Such a hard decision! I swing both ways :)
Side Sweep Bangs or Full Bangs: Side Swept Bangs
