Just to let y’all know I had an amazing birthday weekend! Friday night, John & I had a great night out alone (meanwhile Abby had a blast at a bonfire with a friend of ours and reportedly chowed down on some chili – seriously there is nothing this kid won’t eat). We went shopping and I got a new pair of jeans and 2 new shirts but my jeans have to be cut off. Seriously, I do not consider myself short. I’m 5’4″ which is fairly average. But when I have to get short length pants cut off there is something wrong! What do shorter ladies do?! I should not have to buy extra-short pants at 5’4″. Just sayin’. Off of my soapbox.
Saturday was absolutely gorgeous. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for a trip to the zoo! The sun was shining & the sky was blue. The temp was in the lower 70s so it actually felt like FALL! Hear that NC? It’s FALL! Enough with the 80+ days! Here are some of my favorite shots of the day:

P.S. Did you notice her super-cute t-shirt that she is wearing? It was custom made by Lil LJ Designs! Seriously you need to check her out! Abby has several shirts from her company and they are AWESOME! She did Abby’s in Vikings colors to surprise John & he loved it! It even has our last name across the back like a jersey!
Sunday included more awesome family time as we decided to carve Abby’s pumpkin! I thought she would want to help out but she decided that she was not about to get her hands dirty! She’s such a girly-girl! I printed out the stencil from Nick Jr’s website of her favorite character Moose (or “Moo” as she says it!). Here is the work in action & the final product:

I could not have asked for a better birthday weekend! Now my birthday was a different story. I had to work (boo!) but my supervisor took me out to lunch to celebrate (yay!) but somehow my lunch got cross-contaminated (I don’t think the waitress had any idea what I was talking about when I mentioned Celiac nor do I think she paid attention at all to my requests) so I ended up going home sick (double boo!). But the day wasn’t a complete bust as I spent the evening snuggled up on the couch with Abby watching Finding Nemo!

I love birthdays!
