I have been in love with makeup for some time but I’ll be honest – I have not been the best when it comes down to having a dedicated skin care routine. I made sure to take off my makeup with a makeup wipe before bed, used some moisturizer when I remembered, and tossed on a face mask when I felt fancy. It is definitely something I should have nailed down long before my mid-30s. Ooops.
Its time to right my wrong and I thought I would bring you all along for the ride! I’ve come up with a new lineup and I am going to do a six weeks before and after for my new spoonie skincare routine! There are so many expensive products on the market that receive so much hype and believe me, if I had the funds, I would want to try them too but I am certain that there are products that are just as effective at an affordable price. Each product in my line up is under $20. Let’s explore the new lineup.
My Skin Details:
Dry, uneven skintone with sun damage and dark, puffy eyes. Hitting menopause at the 26 wasn’t the best for my skin. Especially with my previous lack of effort on establishing a solid skincare routine.
My New Spoonie Skincare Lineup:
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water – I’ve made the switch over from makeup wipes to micellar water as a first step in removing my makeup and cleansing my skin at the end of the day. It does a great job taking off all of my makeup including my eye makeup.
Garnier SkinActive The Gentle Sulfate Free Cleanser – Sometimes there is nothing better than a good, simple cleanser. This is so gentle on my sensitive skin but does a wonderful job fully cleansing my skin. This cleanser will be used AM and PM.
Andalou Naturals Clementine + C Illuminating Toner – This is a brightening toner with fruit stem cell complex, vitamin C, and aloe vera polysaccharides to instantly hydrate and refresh with skin friendly nutrients to uplift circulation and gently balance pH for improved appearance in skin’s tone and texture and a luminous complexion. This will be used twice daily after cleansing and before moisturizing.
Andalou Naturals Tumeric + C Enlighten Serum – This serum has fruit stem cell complex, turmeric, and vitamin C that effectively ‘lighten, tighten, and brighten’ by targeting hyperpigmentation and UV damage, swiftly neutralizing free radicals, while activating collagen and elastin for even tone and a firmer, smoother complexion. This will also be used twice daily after cleansing and before moisturizing.
Garnier Ultra-Lift Miracle Wake-up Cream – This cream is said to “give skin an “around-the-clock” hydration boost to fight signs of fatigue and enjoy fresh, youthful-looking skin every day. Heavy on results and light on feel, these fast-absorbing, non-greasy formulas recharge skin so you can look refreshed and well-rested.” This will be used as my AM moisturizer.
Garnier SkinActive Miracle Anti-Fatigue Sleeping Cream – This rich cream gives “skin an “around-the-clock” hydration boost to fight signs of fatigue and enjoy fresh, youthful-looking skin every day. This refreshing formula combines the deeply hydrating power of a mask with the light feel of a lotion while it renews, firms and even reduces the appearance of wrinkles.” This will be used as my PM moisturizer.
Garnier SkinActive Miracle Anti-Fatigue Eye Gel Cream – This cream has been specially formulated to put “dullness to bed” and is infused with lavender essential oil, hyaluronic & hydroxy acids so that it renews, firms and even reduces the appearance of wrinkles. This will be used as my PM eye cream.
It is taking every ounce of bravery I have to post this before picture. There is no makeup or altering of any kind. BE WARNED!
