Anyone else getting the itch to do some spring cleaning? There is something about the warmer weather that makes me want to open all the windows and clear the clutter. I would probably have the house completely reorganized if I had the available spoons! Instead I am looking for energy-saving and cost-saving ways to get things cleaned & organized!
As a spoonie and a mom, not only am I concerned about performance and cost of products but I am also concerned about the chemicals in products. The jury is still undecided on how big of a role, if any, chemicals and toxins play in chronic illness. I have tried difference eco-friendly products on the market but never had any really good results so I’ve stuck with mainline products. This is a picture of what was under my sink:
I pretty much have at least 2 products that I use per room in our house. As a part of my job, I have had to sit through Haz-Mat sessions and learned about various chemicals and their dangers so I definitely was uneasy knowing some of those chemicals are in my household cleaners as well. Especially now that Abby is extremely mobile and extremely curious about trying anything and everything new.
I was very excited to try the Shaklee Go Clean line of products in our house! Knowing that the dangerous chemicals were out of my house definitely helped me breathe a sigh of relief. I also loved seeing how few products I needed in comparison. In addition of not having the nasty chemicals, by reusing product bottles you are saving space in the landfill and eliminating 248 pounds of greenhouse gas with just one kit! I definitely loved the new replacements:

Well, since we’re living with friends, we don’t actually have a kitchen sink of our own. When we did, we used all natural products. I’m kinda scared to look under their sink! Yikes!

Oh I so need this! Jackson tried to lick his high chair the other day when I had sprayed cleaner on it. The ingredients? Bleach and at least three others you listed! Scared me half to death!

Oh yeah, got an under sink full of chemicals. I never know what to buy when it comes to natural cleaners though, so most of the time I just go the baking soda and vinegar route of cleaning naturally. I’d certainly love to win this!
