Guest Post & Giveaway! “If I . . . I Will”

As many of you know this blog was born out of my struggle with infertility.  So when I was approached to be a part of the If I…I Will Virtual Book Tour I jumped on the chance to be a part of it!

Like Debbie Covington, writer of If I . . . I Will, I have always had a love for the story of the suffering of the woman in Mark 5 and the subsequent healing she found in the Savior.  Maybe its the spending all of her money at doctors and never finding any healing or answers that makes us have so much in common!  But Covington’s book takes a deeper look at this story and how it can apply to each and every one of us.  Here is some more  information on If I . . . I Will:

If I…I will: simple words, but do we ever move past the “ifs” in our lives? Do we know in our hearts and minds that God indeed will help us to achieve our dreams and goals? If I…I Will is an insightful look at the healing of the suffering woman in Mark 5 whom Jesus healed. And just like that suffering woman, we must step past our suffering, the words we may hear, our own thoughts, and the crowds around us to reach for Jesus. What if we reach Jesus? Will He change our lives forever? Will He heal us? Yes, indeed! Maybe Jesus won’t follow the way we envision the healing or the change to happen, but faith in Jesus will forever change us. So, step out and reach for Jesus’ hand, and begin the adventure of a lifetime.

Freedom

Ezekiel 34: 26-27

There will be showers of blessing. ..When I have broken their chains of slavery and rescued them from those who enslaved them, then they will know that I am the LORD.

Have you ever experienced a time in your life that you felt like you were being showered with blessings? It is the most amazing experience I’ve ever felt and it was definitely God breaking my chains from the things in my life that were holding me jailed.

I experienced showers of blessings after realizing that the pain of not experiencing motherhood was okay. When God finally showed me through His Word the reason for my not having children, He rewarded me so deeply. It has given me the most amazing relationship with My Savior. I know in my heart without the pain, I might not have had this blessing.

Isn’t it sad that it takes a difficult time for so many of us to grow our relationship with God? I know it is common and that this is the way that God grows us, but in the past few years I’ve realized how much I missed before the search began for the reason for the pain in my heart.

I missed Him working in my life every day. Every day I look for God now and it is amazing how He shows up! I love to tell friends to look for God today…it may be a simple thing or it may be a difficult day, but look for Him. He is there; we just forget to look for Him.

He does break our chains of addictions, sickness, expectations, all the things that keep us in slavery. At this point, we definitely realize that He is the LORD! We have no other explanation only The LORD that can break these chains in our journey!

    There are so many amazing words in the bible. I hardly know them well enough. Brooke, yours, I was just introduced to by my “little sister” who knows her bible so much better than I. She got a Jeremiah 29:11 tattoo and I can think of few things more wonderful to permanently imprint on oneself. Simply beautiful.

    My favorite verse is Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer”. My husband fights a rare cancer and I have fibromyalgia. We are definitely an afflicted family, but there is joy to be found in hope and faithful prayer!!
