Where I’ve Been

I promise that I did not drop off the face of the planet. Instead I landed myself in the hospital! On Friday June 1st, I was rushed to the ER with severe abdominal pain and vomiting where I was diagnosed with an intestinal obstruction. I underwent emergency surgery on Sunday after they were able to fully locate blockage as well as determining the degree of the blockage (full, partial, etc). I ended up losing ten inches of my small bowel has it had gotten wrapped around scar tissue and died. The doctor said had I waited any longer to come in it would have been much worse as gangrene was beginning to set in! Yikes! I was discharged on Saturday the 9th but had to be readmitted the next day for another blockage. So far it is looking like it is going to resolve itself (fingers crossed) so hopefully in another day or two I’ll get to go home for good! I have so many stories to tell!
