Wednesday Check-in: Down & Dirty!

Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans

It’s that time again over at the Sisterhood and for once I was actually excited to hop on the scales! Of course, part of my excitement was my poor math skills (but you’ll see about that in a second).

After last week’s disappointment, I was ready to make amends and get going. Unfortunately, due to the return of massive pelvic pain (darn you endo!), I have had to take a hiatus from running, but I’ve tried to really focus on my diet and make smart choices. I put a call into my doctor yesterday but of course, she and her nurse are on vacation and I really didn’t want to have to regurgitate my life story with a new doctor so I will have to wait until Monday.

So, here are the details from my weigh-in.  I hopped on the scales quickly on Sunday and was super excited by the number so I was really hoping it would stick.  I kept thinking that this number would put me at 30# lost so I kept going over and over again in my head about how to celebrate and how I could take a picture yada yada yada.  So I hopped on the scale this morning and to my surprise, I was down another .4lbs!  So my weigh-in was 136! Sunday was 136.4 so I kept thinking that would be 30lbs!  My starting weight was 164.4 so you can see my lack of math skills!  So I was a little disappointed when I realized my error in math (hey its been 10 years since I had a math class–lol!).  But I am super excited that I am still REALLY close!

So here are my stats:

Starting weight: 164.4

Challenge Starting Weight: 137.4

Challenge Goal: 132

Last week’s weigh-in: 138.4
Today’s weigh-in: 136
Change: -2.4

Challenge Change: -2.4

Overall Change: -28.4

I forgot to grab the tape this morning so I can’t update my inches but I will try to do so this afternoon!

Here is a quick pic update!  Sorry that the quality isn’t great (it was taken from my blackberry!)

Congratulations! That’s super exciting! I just started a new *nutritional lifestyle* change on Monday and I’m hoping for really good things! I had successfully lost 200 pounds (nope that’s not a typo) on a low carb diet a few years ago and then gained the majority of it back when I started indulging in *regular* food again. I’m back on very low carb because my knees are screaming at me for making them carry so much weight and I’m tired of getting winded between the parking lot and my car! Plus I suspect that several of my medical issues can be resolved, or at least improved, by weight loss! Seeing your success encourages and motivates me!

Over from SITS Blog Frog 31DBBB (boy is that a mouthful!)

Well done on your tagets this time, it’s so hard to make the desision to eat more healthily – there are so many temptations out there! I really could do with a nudge to do something like this before it gets uncontrollable!

Good luck with the rest of your weight loss journey!

Congratulations on almost reaching you goal. I still have quite a ways to go. I know if I pick up the exercise, it would come off quicker, but what can I say? After working all day & coming home to all the “mommy” duties, I’m too tired. And I don’t care what people say, exercising does not give me more energy. I wish it did. But once the heat of the summer is gone, I’m going to kick it up again (exercising that is).

I have to exercise first thing in the morning or it won’t get done! By the time I get done with work, I want to come home, relax, and spend time with my husband and daughter! So I have to be an early riser! P.S. I don’t buy the “it gives you more energy” bit either 🙂

Visiting from #31DBB…. Congrats on the loss! 2.4 is fantastic…and you are so close. I am a weight watchers lifetime (finally- or again, after a few years of being above goal), so I understand the challenge. It is definitely a long and slow process– but patience and persistence will eventually pay off!

    Jamee,

That’s awesome. Congratulations on getting down to those numbers. I know how hard it is. I’m doing a weight loss challenge too and only managed 4 lbs in 30 days.

I’ve been there! I had a gain the week before so I think that’s why it looks like a bigger loss this week! It is tough but its so motivating when you really start to see the change!

I’m sorry for your pelvic pain. I can only image it. I had it years ago for a month due to bile stone. I lost 8 kg in a month, I couldn’t it anything.

My secret is portion-size and the Sisterhood! Seriously they keep me so motivated with the fun challenges plus encouragement and support! I have been trying to lose weight for 2 years since my hysterectomy but could not stay motivated on my own and the Sisterhood has helped me lose 28 lbs since joining them at the first of the year!

Awesome! Way to go! You are almost there. You are an inspiration. Losing weight by itself is hard enough. Losing weight while living with chronic illness is so much harder (I struggle with thyroid issues). You rock! (visiting from 31dbbb!

What a great feeling – you are so going to make your goal!
I had endo really bad – in fact they weren’t sure we’d be able to have kids – fortunately for us the surgery and meds helped and we have 3 little (not so little anymore) troublemakers. 🙂

Congrats to you! I’ve been on the weight-loss roller coaster for years…and one thing that’s important to remember is: celebrate the success, big or small. Making the decision to live a healthy lifestyle {I refuse to call it a diet} to me is more about the process than the product – you are doing a great job! ~Liz

I read thru a few other posts and I just wanted to say that I think you have an amazing personality and outlook!! You could totally be a recluse and feel bad for yourself and sit aorund moping- but you don’t and I applaud you for that!!! Your inspiring people and letting them know that having an illness (or mulitple illnesses) does not have to define you- or limit you!! I think your great and I’ll definitely be back here to check in on what;s goin on with you!!! Stay strong! xoxo
