Ok. I am not going to lie. I am a lover of donuts. Glazed Ones. Filled Ones. Powdered Ones. I honestly haven’t met a donut I didn’t like! Which probably explains why I had to join the Sisterhood. LOL! So I was so sad about the loss of donuts when I received my celiac diagnosis! And seriously, after I was diagnosed, we had vendors bring donuts by our office for 4 days straight. Seriously?! It was like my disease was just taunting me! So I began a quest!
Living in the sticks, the internet is my source for specialty GF items and that is when I discovered Kinnickinnick’s Gluten-Free Donuts! They are not only gluten-free, but also dairy-free and soy-free. I purchased the chocolate dipped version but they also have cinnamon-sugar, maple-glazed, and vanilla-glazed. I was so excited when they came in the mail that I had to try one right away!
They are really good! They are more of a cake donut (think Dunkin Donuts versus Krispy Kreme). The size was perfect and nutritionally, they don’t put you in the hole too much! They are 220 cal (6g fat) for one donut but they also have 2g of fiber so that has to count for something! I even shared one with a coworker and she thought they were tasty as well! You definitely wouldn’t guess they were GF if you didn’t know it.
All-in-all, I will definitely be buying these again (and will have to try out some of the other flavors)! This Celiac gives them 2 thumbs up!
