Invisible Illness Awareness Week 2011

Invisible Illness Awareness Week 2011

It’s once again the time of year to focus our efforts on raising awareness for invisible illnesses and the official Invisible Illness Awareness Week site is your source for finding ways to get involved and make a difference!

  1. IIAW Workshops – Every day this week you will find 3-4 podcasts posted that will help those of us with chronic illness learn to embrace each day and learn to live our lives better day to day in spite of illness.
  2. Participate in the “30 Things About My Chronic Illness” Meme -  One of the best ways for people to begin to understand what its like to live with an invisible illness is to share our stories. This meme is a great way to share your experience and by linking up you can find others who are facing the same battles. It is an excellent reminder that we are not in this alone. Here is my invisible illness post from last year.
  3. Spread the Word - Tweet! Blog! Facebook! All of the above! Since I am at Disney this week, I will be armed with a sharpie & post-it notes!

How do you plan to get involved for Invisible Illness Awareness Week?
