I have mentioned my most wonderful dog Charlie on her before and lately, I’ve kind of been in a funk. This resurgence of pain following surgery has definitely left my moods with much to be desired. Hence, one of the reasons for the sporadic posting as I want my blog to be a positive place. I know the complaints are just a normal part of life with multiple illnesses but I don’t want to dwell there so instead of posting negatively, I decided to not post at all.
Well, in the midst of this sea of negativity, we had a birthday in our house recently. Our sweet Charlie turns 11! Of course when I told Abby that it was her birthday, she insisted we have a party (I think she was just looking for an excuse for cupcakes). My family was coming into town so I thought why not! Charlie has been an integral part of my life for the last 9 1/2 years and has been a major source of therapy since my diagnosis so I couldn’t think of a better reason to throw a party!
So I put up some simple decorations:
We enjoyed a birthday dinner (Taco Bell for us & Beneful Beef Stew for the girls – boy I sure know how to cook don’t i?). Abby wasn’t complaining as currently her favorite food is a cheese roll-up!
And here is the lovely birthday girl who got a new bone & toy for her special day!
Sometimes when you are down, the best thing in the world is a party! Cupcakes help too
