blogging for endo

March is deemed Endometriosis Awareness Month. As we all know, raising awareness, support, and education about the impact of endometriosis is a year round task but during the month of March, we pull out all the stops. A group of bloggers and myself would love for you to join in with us to help spread education and awareness regarding endometriosis! With 5.5 million women in North America alone being affected, there is a good chance that you know someone battling this often unrelenting disease.

Blogging For Endometriosis Awareness

It is hard to believe that 2015 marks the 4th annual Blogging for Endometriosis Awareness campaign! Four years of bloggers joining together to raise awareness and make a difference in the lives of those affected by endometriosis!

Blogging-for-Endometriosis-Awareness

The Blogging for Endometriosis Awareness campaign runs throughout the month of March and provides an opportunity to share your journey with others and offer and receive some support and encouragement for fellow endo-sisters! Each week there is a different topic that discusses the various ways endometriosis impacts our lives. We all know that the physical aspects of the disease is just on facet of life and it impacts our lives emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

This year’s theme is Sick of It: Taking a Stand for Endometriosis (based off of “Sick of It” by Skillet ) Watch the video and listen to the lyrics, it is absolutely PERFECT for Blogging for Endometriosis. If you are short on time and prefer a synopsis, the song is about harnessing your energy for good and standing up for a cause you believe in, one that you are sick of hearing about, and you know a change needs to be made. Perfect summary for our campaign right?

To kick the month off, March 1st is Yellow Shirt Day so sport your yellow loud & proud and we will kick off the month with a link of you lovely readers sporting your yellow! We would love to see social media turn yellow!

We will have weekly post link-ups so we can learn more about one another and we can help promote each others’ posts to get the word out even more about the importance of endometriosis awareness! This is the posting schedule and topics (you can link up your post any time during the week, not just on Mondays):

Week of March 2nd: Another Year With Endo: What has changed about your journey with endometriosis in the past year?

Week of March 9th: What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger: what strengths do you feel you’ve gained by walking this endo journey?

Week of March 16th: Those Who Walk The Journey With Us: how would you like to honor your caregiver?

Week of March 23rd: Time For Change: If I could change one thing about the stigma of having endometriosis would be . . .”

Week of March 30: My Battle Cry: what message are you determined share with every breath that is within you to make sure the world knows the truth about endometriosis?

We will also be creating a Faces of Endo video as a part of the campaign to spread awareness so we need pictures of our endo-sisters and endo-supporters! To match with this year’s theme, we are asking for pictures of you gorgeous ladies wearing yellow and have “sick of it” written on your hand with your hand raised. The chorus  from our theme song, Sick Of It, is:

Are you sick of it? Raise your hands, Get rid of it! While there’s a fighting chance. Are you over it? Bored to death? Have you had enough regret? Take a stand, raise your hands.

This gives you an idea why we have chosen that pose for the campaign video! Please
email me
your picture if you would like to be a part of this video and please help spread the word! The more participants the better!
