Free Pass for Cold Season?

cold seasonphoto

I have spent way too much time in bed this weekend not to have slept much. No fibro flares or endo issues. Not even Celiac-related issues. For once.

This time it was the old-fashioned crud. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of preferential treatment but in this case, I wish that spoonies could earn a free pass when it comes to cold/cough/crud season! I have enough issues to worry about than battling snot and a sore throat. So I have spent the last 48 hours with a box of Kleenex in hand and my head soaring like a kite. Thank you Dayquil – I’m not drowsy but the whole floaty feeling is way worse. And thanks to you Nyquil – for, well, nothing.

What makes me feel worse about having the crud is that I’m not alone. Abby is also fighting the crud and isn’t old enough for cold/cough medicine. I would take the crud 5x over if it meant she didn’t have to deal with it.

So if anyone has a free pass for cold season, please let me know so I can pass it onto my daughter!

Fill in the Blanks Friday

fill in the blanks friday

  1. I am beyond excited about the weather forecast for the weekend! Mid-70s today and just slightly cooler but sunny through the weekend! Planning a picnic in the park tomorrow!
  2. The bravest thing I’ve ever done was have a total hysterectomy at the age of 26. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made and it took courage to take a stand for my health even though it meant losing so much.
  3. I feel the prettiest when I’m with my husband. He makes me feel beautiful.
  4. Something that keeps me awake at night is a teething toddler. Please 2 year molars hurry up so we can get this over with!
  5. My favorite meal in the entire world is the Victoria’s Filet from Outback! Goodness I love a good steak!
  6. The way to my heart is through time and affirmation!
  7. I would like to take the rest of the day off and take Abby to the zoo but I can’t so I’ll keep daydreaming about being outdoors until 5pm!
