2 Year Anniversary – What Faith Can Do

Today marks an anniversary. 2 years ago I was recovering from a total hysterectomy.  My life would never be the same.  The irony of today is that I was asked to share my infertility and loss story (with my husband and 2 other couples) at our church this morning.  It was quite an emotional day.  It was almost like reliving certain aspects of the hysterectomy all over again.  And if it wasn’t hard enough sharing it once, we have two services so I got to share it twice!  It was hard but I was glad to share the opportunity to share my experience in hopes to bring awareness to the pain and loss associated with infertility and my untimely hysterectomy.  You can listen to the service online here (just click on launch sermon player and click Pain of Infertility).

Needless to say, it has been quite a journey these last two years.  A lot of happiness and a lot of tears.  But through it all, I believe I’ve become stronger.  Not on my own of course, but through my faith in God that He is in control and regardless of what happens He loves me and in the end that is all I need.  I came across this Kutless song today and it moved me to tears as I feel like it resonates so much with my story these last few years so I would like to share it with you.

KUTLESS – What Faith Can Do lyrics

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think its more than you can take
But you are stronger, stronger than you know
Don’t you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard
Impossible is not a word
It’s just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody’s scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It’ll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

Overcome the odds
You don’t have a chance
(That’s what faith can do)
When the world says you can’t
It’ll tell you that you can!

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do
That’s what faith can do!
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise

The Celiac Review: Enjoy Life Not Nuts! Beach Bash Trail Mix

Words cannot describe how excited I was to find a nut-free trail mix!  I seriously wanted to jump up and down when I found Enjoy Life Not Nuts trail mix!  Not only is this trail mix nut-free, it is also certified gluten-free and made with no wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish or shellfish also made without casein, potato, sesame and sulfites and made in a completely nut and gluten free bakery.

My local store had two varieties Beach Bash and Mountain Mambo.  Since we were headed to the beach, I picked up the Beach Bash.  O.M.G.  This stuff is AMAZING!  I could have seriously sat down and ate the entire bag in one sitting!  The Beach Bash mix contains sunflower kernels, pumpkin seeds, dried pineapple, apricots and cranberries while the Mountain Mambo contains sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds (pepitas), fruit and chocolate chips.  I actually added plain M&Ms to the Beach Bash for some added sweetness to blend with the salty…Yum!

So I am definitely a fan of this product!  Mountain Mambo is next on my list to try then I will have to decide which variety to order a case of to keep on hand for when the munchies hit!

just for fun
