Shortcut Saturday!

Whether you are struggling with a chronic illness, are a new mom, or are a full-time student/employee (or all of the above), everyone is looking for some shortcuts in life! So I am going to try to dig up the best shortcuts I can find!

I know personally I can never remember to get everything that I need at the grocery store. Usually even if I bring a hand-written list. Heaven help us if we are out of mustard because it just happens to be one of those things that I can never ever remember to pick up while we are out at the grocery store so we may go without from a month before John finally picks it up. Fibro fog strikes quite often! But I can across this wonderful website – – home of the Ultimate Grocery List. This list has EVERYTHING you can imagine! Especially all of those little things that are hard to remember (like mustard and bullion cubes!). They have also just rolled out an ultimate vegetarian list for you veggies out there! For the deluxe list click here and for the vegetarian list click here. Plus if you are looking to kill time or looking for a laugh, they maintain a list of the top 10 funniest grocery lists found (do you think your list is unique? send it in!). I hope this website helps you out as much as it helps me!

Friday Words of Faith – Rescue Me

I’m not channeling Aretha Franklin but instead calling out for a more important rescue. Today I have really been worn down by things in life that in all honesty shouldn’t cause me to bat an eye. Things that in the scope of eternity do not even come close to being on the radar yet I found myself feel so overwhelmed and defeated. I even cried. On the way home after picking Abby up from daycare, I heard the song “Rescue” by Newsong and I about cried…again. It was SO what I needed to hear and helped me put so many things in persective and helped me put my focus back where it needs to be. I had such an amazing time of worship right there in my car. Abby even fell asleep by the time we actually got out of the car (it was seriously like a 3 minute drive but we were in the car alot longer than that). If you have never heard it, here are the lyrics:

Rescue by Newsong
You are the source of life
I can’t be left behind
No one else will do
I will take hold of You
I need You Jesus, I need You Jesus
My heart is Yours for life
I need Your hand in mine
No one else will do
Lord I put my trust in You
I need You Jesus to come to my rescue
Where else can I go?
There’s no other Name by which I am saved
Capture me with grace
I will follow You
My heart is Yours for life
I need Your hand in mine
No one else will do
Lord I put my trust in You
This world has nothing for me (I will follow You)
Dear most gracious Father,
First and foremost I thank you that I can even call you Father and that I know that You hear me. I’m not praying to a dead and distant god but a God who is personal and longs to interact with me. God I need You to come to my rescue. It has been far too long since I have placed my hand in yours. Lately I have been so caught up in my own thing and yet I have been wondering why I have felt so overwhelmed and anxious. I haven’t been able to see past myself. God I pray for forgiveness of my selfishness. I pray for the strength to put ALL of my trust in You and to keep it there (not take it back). God this world truly has nothing for me. You are everything. You are the source and sustainer of life. You are the giver of all good and perfect things. I pray that You help me to dwell on these things right now and for the hours and days to come. God I pray for anyone reading this that may be having the same struggles. May they call out to You for rescue and they receive grace and strength for the day. I love you for all that You have been, all that You are, and all that You will be.

Top 10 Thursday

Top Ten Thursday Button

I just had to join in and share the blackberry love!

Top 10 Reasons why I love my Blackberry

10. It continues to feed my Facebook addiction….now if only they could find a way where you can farm from your blackberry…..

9. Constant email access (which may or may not be a good thing).

8. Being able to say adios to T9 texting (which I was never any good at).

7. Oh my love for the navigation app! It has saved me many times from getting completely and utterly lost.

6. The games! When you spend hours waiting in doctor’s office waiting rooms, you need something to pass the time besides outdated Time magazines. Word Mole has become my new favorite.

5. Actually having phone with a decent camera and video to catch Abby in all of her cuteness (since I always forget to pack our digital camera or the Flip)

4. Being able to sync with my computer so both stay up to date with contacts and doctors appointments (okay…there are occasionally other appointments I need to keep up with as well…which reminds me that I need to call my hair stylist….)

3. I feel like I finally have a phone as cool as our kids at church.

2. Now that I have figured out how to set the keyboard lock, I can easily slip it in my back pocket (no more butt dialing!)

1. With web-browsing, I can now blog from anywhere! Woo-hoo!
